Hi, Dear Friend,
I did some tests with the app tiny png on some images for my Pinterest board on Marc Chagall. I think this app will be very helpful for you.
Welcome and thank you for your attention on this online marketing training.
The Panda of tiny png saved almost 64%.
This is amazing for your page speed.
Tiny PNG is an Advanced lossy compression program for PNG images that preserves full alpha transparency.
I like to share this because the experience for your clients or friends will be much better.
Anyway, if the page speed will increase of your blog or website you will get a higher ranking.
Why should I use TinyPNG?
PNG is useful because it’s the only widely supported format that can store partially transparent images.
The format uses compression, but the files can still be large. Use TinyPNG to shrink images for your apps and sites. It will use less bandwidth and load faster.
I can’t see any loss of quality after compressing with Tinypng.
If you just scale you can’t get as much save of KB.
If you resize in your post, always use the size button in the display settings.
If you resize in your post you always lose page speed, because the program takes the full size from the media library.
Control your page speed with GT Metrix and compress all the images and more
GTmetrix tells you a lot about your website performance.
Our Report gives you the full picture on how your site loads and helps you detect where bottlenecks are.
Key features include:
3. Page Load Details (time, size, number of requests)
4. Various Analysis Options
5. Waterfall,
6. Video and
7. Report History
Conclusion: Always compress your files before storage in the media library.
For your post thumbnail and the thumbnail for Facebook, I use 200 with or/ 200 high, almost no quality difference if you scale the compressed file.
You can find the quotes in Goodreads here.
You can make this pictures with Recitethis.com
You can analyze the page speed difference with Gtmetrix
I have analyzed this particular page with Pingdom tools.
With all this images even after compression it is a very slow page speed! Use lesser images!
Please tell me your suggestions on this. If you have experience with another program let me know your insights. I love to respond on your ideas.
